Whether you’ve found a stray pet or lost your beloved companion, following these steps will give you the best chance for a happy reunion.

STEP 1: REPORT THE LOST OR FOUND PET

Create a listing on Petco Love Lost, share the details on social media, and put up posters in your neighborhood. Use clear photos and include important details like the pet’s size, breed, and any identifying features. Use clear photos

STEP 2 CHECK LOST AND FOUND LISTINGS

Regularly check local lost and found pet listings, including those on social media groups, neighborhood apps, and websites like Petco Love Lost.

STEP 3: CONTACT LOCAL RESCUES, VETS, & SHELTERS

If you found a pet, bring them to a local vet or rescue to check for a microchip. This is often the quickest way to find the owner.

  • If you lost your pet, make sure your pet’s microchip information is up-to-date. Contact local rescues and shelters, and check with veterinarians in your area.
